The setup covers the build: data warehouse, pipelines, dashboards — the same deliverable as a one-time project. The monthly fee covers what a project doesn't: monitoring, maintenance, strategy calls, ad-hoc changes.

Questions about Managed BI

What's the difference between your project services and Managed BI?
My project services deliver a one-time implementation — I build your data warehouse and dashboards, then hand them over. Managed BI includes the same build, but I also maintain and manage the platform afterwards. Same investment, different packaging. Projects are for firms with internal data capacity. Managed BI is for firms that want everything handled.
Do I lose data during migration?
No. I work with automated pipelines that copy data from your source systems. Your existing tools keep working exactly as before — I read from them, I don’t change them.
How long does the setup take?
Depending on the tier: 4-8 weeks for Foundation, 8-12 weeks for Growth, 12-16 weeks for Scale. You see progress weekly from the start.
Which tools do you connect?
Exact Online, Yuki, Teamleader, HubSpot, Monday, Productive, Jira, Mailchimp — and many more via Airbyte. If your tool has an API, I can connect it.
Can I adjust dashboards myself?
Yes. Dashboards are built in Looker Studio or Metabase — tools you can access directly. For structural changes, that’s part of the monthly management.
What if I want to add more data sources later?
That’s the advantage of managed service. Adding sources is part of the ongoing relationship. Depending on complexity, it may be covered by your ad-hoc hours or require a scope adjustment.
Is there a minimum contract duration?
The setup phase has a fixed timeline. After go-live, the management contract runs month-to-month with 2 months notice. No long-term lock-in.
Can I switch to self-management later?
Yes. Everything I build is documented and based on standard tools (BigQuery, dbt, Looker Studio). If you hire an internal data engineer later, I do a full handover. No vendor lock-in.
How do you handle data privacy and GDPR?
All data stays in Google Cloud (EU region). I work with a Data Processing Agreement. I only access data needed for reporting — no personal data unless strictly necessary for your KPIs.
Can I switch from a project to managed service?
Absolutely. Existing project clients can add a management contract at the monthly rate. The setup fee is waived since the build is already done.
